What matters most!

Thank you so much my dears for continuing to read my blogg.....that is a very happy thing.

- Yesterday, at my house it was really raining hard. My mom and dad weren't there and it was just me and the BOYS.....MY TWO LITTLE BROTHERS. I'm not saying that brothers are bad at all... but some days they, well, are BOYS.

-So I decided that a way to get my exercise and to also play with them after doing 8 hours of homework would be to get out in the rain and jump on the trampoline! So all three of us put on our shoes and went out there. Then when we came in our dog had snuck out with us so we had to give that smelly thing a bath along with the other two little animals (the boys of course). We all gave Benji a bath...

God just reminded me of the things in life that are most important. They will remember that for a-long time....that means a-lot to me.

Tonights Church

Hey everyone!

Tonight I went to my youth group at church and it was so great. We had a speaker from England.
His name is Matt and he works with an organization that gets Bibles out to people that really need them.
He and his wife are just so amazing and really seem to be on fire for Christ. He spoke about how important it is to NOT care what people think about you, to JUST worry about what your heart looks like to God...which I think is EXTREMELY timely for what I wrote about in my last blog.
- But tonight he was talking about how people in other countries DIE for only sharing the gospel with someone...and yet we are afraid of what we look like standing in line with our younger sibling!
THIS IS NOT THE LIFE THAT GOD HAS CHOSEN FOR US!
" For this is the will of God, your sanctification..." ( 1 Thessalonians 4:3 )
God above all things calls us to be sanctified through Him...I have to think about that before anything else. There are people in other countries who are giving their lives for the will of God, to share their faith with others. What is our purpose as teen girls? Is it to ALWAYS worry about what we look like?
No...it is to DO the will of God and to be sanctified!

Be yourself!

< This is me and "Butterfingers" :)

Yesterday me and one of my best friends in the whole world "Butterfinger" got together and went to the pool. She came to just hang with me while we were drinking our favorite drink...SWEET tea. We had such a good time goofing off and being ourselves. That night we went to half of a football practice and to a park close by with my brother and sat on the tire swing, my brother spinned us SO fast that the rice we ate for dinner suddenly didn't settle so well :/ After acting like a bunch of little kids, we sat and watch the rest of the practice.

-What I'm getting at is that, well, YES you definitely should be surrounded by a great group of friends...that is SO important. But having someone in your life that you can just have a good time with, without trying to be "cool"...thats one of the greatest friends of all!!!
- "Butterfingers" has really helped me since we have known each other to always remember to Be yourself...no one else. I love her so much, to be honest, I probably would have never got on that tire-swing as a sophomore in highschool if "Butterfingers" hadn't said, "Lindz! Lets go!"

Trusting in God

This Morning in my devotions, I was reading Oswald Chambers " My Utmost For His Highest".
Outside of the Bible, it has to be one of the most poweful devotion books that I have ever read. August 12 was on the Theology of trusting in God, Oswald simply states the importance of trusting in Christ. The verse that he quotes is Matthew 8:26, " Why are you fearful?, Oh you of little faith?"
Oswald expands on this verse and says, " There are times when there is no storm or crisis in our lives, and we do all that is humanly possible. But it is when a crisis arises that we instantly reveal upon whom we rely. We come to our wits' end showing that we don't have the slightest amount of confidence in Him or in His sovereign control of the World."

* That really spoke to me this morning...reminding me that God wants me to give him everything.

This is me and my BEST friends in the whole world. My two cousins!

Shopping!!!

I LOVE to shop!!!!
It is so much fun to me, although I don't have a big wallet in my pocket...my mom has taught me GREAT tips that I use all the time.
1. Look for the SALE rack!!! When I shop I NEVER shop on anything but sales. Except for shoes.
2. Look for clothes that you can wear with ALOT of things. For instance, I bought a black casual plain shirt at Kohls for $10. I wear it all the time...OK everyone knows that black goes with everything.
3. Sweaters are great too. They are modest but make everyones shape look good. I bought a blue and white stripped sweater at Heritage 1989 on a CLEARANCE rack for $6. It was originally $24 but I looked in the sale area.
4. Buy clothes that you can dress UP or DOWN.

* " For you shall remember the Lord your God, for He is the one that is giving you power to make wealth,
that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is to this day." (Deuteronomy 8:18)

- As children of God, we do HAVE to remember above all things, that we do NOT desire this thing called wealth. "For he is the one that has given you power". Without God I wouldn't have $20 at Kohls, or anything at all.
* " How much better is it to get wisdom than gold?..." (Proverbs 16:16) in this verse God is putting wisdom above gold...if so, how important is it to spend with wisdom?

Hello my dears,
Yesterday I went to Sixflags with most of my family and other friends.
There were so many young ladies and even some older ladies that where wearing clothing that in my opinion, wasn't OK for anyplace. Although everyone wants to stay cool in the 115 degree weather, there are ways to to do that without dressing...well, not so good. So here are some things that may help.

1. Thin clothing is always a blessing, not clothes that you can see through, but T-shirts that are thin.
2. Drinking water will cool you off any day.
3. Tiny Sofie shorts and a halter doesn't achieve the goal of being modest, but...a tank that comes up higher and cotton Bermudas from Wal-mart does the trick for me!
4. Ride rides that go up REALLY high so that you have a great breeze going down. Hahah :)

The first!

Hello Ladies, I am very exited about doing this blog. My prayer is that God will use this to speak to girls my age. I think that it is going to be really cool to write about how God speaks to me in my devotions. He is always showing me things and I think would be neat to share. Thanks for checking in! Lindsey :)
